Floral cotton lace Sundress

Posted on August 2, 2011 at 9:30 PM

This sundress was done last night. It took about 3 hours to finish. Total cost $5 includes sheer trims and elastics, 100% cotton lace fabric

The top was like tank top with white sheer lace trims for the straps (double layers) in the front. Front neck was gathered by elastic and top stitched with white sheer lace trim. The top's back was regularly cut and hemmed by white lace trim also.

The skirt has 2 parts: hip which was a piece of 18 cm x 104 cm and flare bottom which included 8 pieces (18 cm & 28 cm for 2 parallel sides x 35 cm length).

The reason I chose 104cm width of the hip piece because I wanted each segment was 13 cm, so the flare bottom pieces - each will be 13 cm + 5 cm for pleats. And 18 cm length was included 5 cm for elastic waistband - attached with the tank top. Sounds complicated but it was quite easy when put pieces together.

Ok here is the same idea as usual: no lining with this dress because I will combine with different color of the underdresses like peach, light grey, beige, even white color. They all suit underneath this dress. In the photos I wore the nude underdress and I love it.

I love this dress and the material is beautiful. Do you make your underdresses too?? Are they anything like slips or are they the same thing?
